An unnamed Florida woman is reportedly being investigated by local law enforcement and child services after allegedly allowing a snake to repeatedly bite her one-year-old daughter.

The woman found the snake in her driveway and says she has no regrets about the "introduction", WFTS reports. The video showed St. Laurent holding the snake in front of the child, who reached for it - and then the snake bit her on the right thumb. She thought it was a good opportunity to "introduce" the girl to the snake without her getting hurt. She removed the video from her Facebook page after receiving backlash.

"And she's not scared of snakes but she doesn't want to touch them, either".

The woman lives on nine acres in rural Highlands County.

Red Ratsnakes are sometimes called Red Cornsnakes, are non-venomous and can eventually grow to about six-feet long, ABC News reported.

St. Laurent said she had allowed the snake to bite her first to make sure the snake would not injure the child.

"People are too sensitive", she told WFTS. You can hear the daughter flinch and cry each time the snake strikes her.

Continuing, St. Laurent said that the snake's teeth were "too small to actually puncture the skin". The entire incident is under investigation by the Highlands County Sheriff's Office.
