Today, LSU exacted a measure of revenge, beating the Gators 17-16 in Gainesville.

Linebacker Devin White ended Florida's hopes when he batted down a fourth down pass by Gator quarterback Felipe' Franks.

The Tigers got their running game going first, with a mix of between-the-tackle plays and jet sweeps with wide receivers.

LSU responded on the next drive as Connor Culp split the uprights for a 38-yard field goal with 25 seconds left in the half. But the Gators (3-2, 1-1) answered, getting the first of consecutive TD runs by Lamical Perine. Reese and defensive end Jabari Zuniga sacked LSU quarterback Danny Etling once each.

This week has been tumultuous to say the least around the LSU program, with players-only meetings, and under-fire Athletic Director Joe Alleva holding a skull session with Orgeron and both coordinators. But Piniero missed the extra point, leaving Florida down 17-16 with four minutes to play in the third quarter.

"They got what they deserved", said Florida coach Jim McElwain after last November's win.

Perine keyed the drive with a 23 yard rush, after which he earned 15 more on an Arden Key late hit.

KERRYON JOHNSON carries 28 times for 204 yards and three touchdowns to highlight Auburn's 44-23 victory over Mississippi.

Cody Worsham, editor of LSU's Tiger Rag, had his camera rolling when a packed house in Gainesville, Florida, turned thousands of voices into one, singing, "I Won't Back Down".

The injury to Malone led to the Tigers playing with three true freshmen on the offensive line at times, which is a school record.
