  • WhatsApp now lets you delete messages sent by mistake

Whatsapp's most awaited feature that's the Messages recall feature has been rumored for many months now, and we have seen little leaks on it recently, but now according to new reports, the feature has started rolling out and is working for some users.

The app's current delete button is almost useless, as it only deletes messages on the sender's side of the conversation, but that looks to be changing in the latest update.

Now WhatsApp is reportedly introducing a face-saving feature which will let users "recall" embarrassing messages.

As the name suggests, the "Delete for Everyone" feature lets users delete messages sent to their WhatsApp contacts. Either way, I wouldn't count on the deletion for everyone being universal just yet, especially in groups: some users might be on older versions of WhatsApp that don't even support the feature as recipients.

As we now steer out, the feature will only work for both the fitting only if the sender and recipient are utilizing the latest WhatsApp version.

After so many rumors and teases, WhatsApp finally makes the long-awaited feature, recall or delete already sent messages. WhatsApp has finally rolled one of the most requested features to its Android, iOS and Windows Phone app.

What this means is that, starting from today, smartphone users across the three platforms (Android, iOS and Windows) can recall or stop the wrongly sent message from reaching the recipient. The message doesn't disappear without a trace, though.

Having started the season in blistering form it will be worrying for Jose Mourinho that his side have look so uninspiring of late.

The new update and features are rolling out right now, but as usual for such things, it might not land everywhere at the same time.

The "Delete for Everyone" feature works in the following manner.

WhatsApp Messenger 2.17.400 beta version was released shortly after 2.17.400 version came out on Friday.

If you mistype something in a conversation, you can simply Unsend it by tapping and holding it, hitting the Delete symbol and selecting Delete for Everyone. This fake message does not show up on the notification nor is it shown on the chat history.

However, the first option [Delete for Everyone] leaves the receiver with a message that says "This message was deleted".

It's been one of the biggest troubles facing instant messaging since it began: what happens if you wish you'd never sent that text? On iPhone, long-press the message, choose Delete from the menu, tap on the delete icon, and then tap on "Delete for Everyone".

The message contained in a quoted message will for now not be deleted.
