  • Robert Mueller was FBI director at the same time the Uranium One deal was being debated and approved

Hours after a report on Fox News that special counsel Robert Mueller was under pressure to resign, CNN broke an exclusive story, citing unnamed sources, that the first charges have been filed in Mueller's counterintelligence investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

CNN reports that a grand jury in Washington D.C. approved the first charges, which are still sealed under orders from a federal judge. However, CNN's source said that whoever the charges are against may be taken into custody as soon as Monday.

It is unclear at this time what the charges are or who is facing them. Subpoenas have also been issued in connection with a handful of other Trump associates linked to Manafort, as well as those related to a meeting in Trump Tower between members of the campaign and a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer.

President Trump had been repeatedly frustrated by the investigation since entering office, calling the probe a "witch hunt" and denying any collusion with Moscow.

The investigation has also been looking into whether Donald Trump obstructed justice when he allegedly asked former FBI director James Comey to drop an inquiry into Michael Flynn.

China is churning out a new billionaire every 5 days
Still, billionaire wealth in Asia, Matthews noted, is very volatile because it is so closely linked to the public markets. China added a net new 67 billionaires past year compared with 25 net new billionaires in the U.S.

Flynn was sacked from that post in February after misleading Vice President Mike Pence about the extent of his conversations with Russian ambassador Sergei Kislyak previous year.

Manafort "answered their questions fully", their spokesman said.

The first person to be charged in connection with the investigation into alleged collusion between Donald Trump's presidential campaign and Russian Federation is due to be taken into custody tomorrow.

Flynn has previously denied through a spokesperson that such a plan was ever discussed. They did not win a contract.
