Rand Paul was assaulted in his home in Bowling Green, Kentucky, on Friday, according to Kentucky State Police.

According to The Bowling Green Daily News, Boucher lives in the same gated community as Paul.

A neighbor told Wave 3 News affiliate WNKY said that Paul was mowing his lawn at the time of the assault.

Police arrested 59-year-old Rene Boucher in connection with the attack.
