  • Vikings activate QB Teddy Bridgewater, move Sam Bradford to IR

Sam Bradford's future was cast in further doubt because of another knee surgery.

Meanwhile, coach Mike Zimmer announced Case Keenum will make his seventh start of the season for the game at Washington on Sunday. "We're just trying to get him to where everybody feels comfortable with it".

One of the biggest roster moves in the National Football League was made on Wednesday when the Minnesota Vikings activated quarterback Teddy Bridgewater and sent Sam Bradford to injured reserve. The freak injury resulted in ligament tears and an ambulance ride to the emergency room to save his leg.

The activation of Bridgewater is a major milestone for the recovery process of the fourth-year quarterback.

The move puts Bradford out for the rest of the regular season, although he could be activated if the Vikings (6-2) make the playoffs. "It's not bone on bone". He was a Pro Bowl selection in 2015 when he passed for 3,231 yards and 14 touchdowns against nine interceptions.

However, he injured the knee during the game and woke up in pain the next day. He attempted to come back, starting the Vikings October 9th game at Chicago, but was unable to finish. "The guy worked extremely hard to try to get back. So hopefully we'll be able to get him back when he gets healthy". He told reporters he felt "confident" in his knee after that first practice and said "definitely believe [s]" he will play this season.

He said after the United win: "Maybe in the future I can decide a different way or continue in this way". I repeat: I have to put my face in every situation, and then to sometimes make important decisions.

While the Vikings are certainly thrilled to have Bridgewater back, there is one minor complication with his return - the Vikings are already playing well. "We all witnessed a miracle".

All 22 will have more on Bridgewater soon. Rookie Kyle Sloter is also on the roster as the third-stringer.

Bridgewater was a full participant in practice Wednesday and declined comment afterward.

"He hasn't had training camp", Zimmer said.

The only victory of the Vikings that Keenum didn't have a hand in was the opener.

Bradford set an National Football League record for completion percentage (71.6) in 2016 when he threw for a career-best 3,877 yards. "When he was rehabbing, before he started practicing, he was throwing to non-receivers, but since then he's been pretty good".
