A cast photo - including the first look at Jude Law as a young Dumbledore - is also out in the open. I would even hazard to say that I can see a fair bit of a resemblance between him and both the late Richard Harris and Michael Gambon's older versions of the character. It was only a matter of time before the sequel's details were made public.
Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald is the follow-up to 2016's $814M worldwide grosser Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them, which launched what will be a five film series of new adventures from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter author JK Rowling. Grindelwald, in possession of the Elder Wand, presents a unsafe front to all of wizarding kind.
Casual fans of the Potter books and films may recall that Grindelwald was the "first Voldemort"-the dark wizard whom Dumbledore defeated, though did not kill, in battle".
Fantastic Beasts 2's movie title has been confirmed
Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, and Dan Fogler are returning to reprise their roles as Tina Goldstein, Queenie Goldstein, and Jacob Kowalski.
Just like its predecessor, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald is being directed by Harry Potter franchise alum David Yates from a screenplay by J.K. Rowling herself. But when Grindelwald stole the Elder Wand from Gregorovitch the wandmaker, the power went to his head and he got all evil. "Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald" is shaping up to be absolutely incredible. The film will follow the events of the first Fantastic Beasts, which found the evil wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Colin Farrell before being revealed as a bleach-blonde Johnny Depp) captured thanks to Newt Scamander's (Eddie Redmayne) efforts.
According to Warner Bros., in the new film Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) has escaped custody and will be seen gathering followers to his nefarious cause.
The movie, which is being shot at Warner Bros. The sequel seems to be picking up where the first entry left off, teaming up Dumbledore with Newt Scamander to help stop Grindelwald.
