  • A missile has been fired at Saudi Arabia by Houthi forces

The Sudanese troops and other forces of the Saudi-led coalition are using military bases in Lahj for training hundreds of newly-recruited Yemeni soldiers to fight Houthis and confront terrorist groups.

"The Arab Coalition Forces Command implemented a private joint operation to evacuate two pilots in the participation of air and land forces where the two pilots were evacuated into the kingdom's territories", said Colonel Turki al-Malki, spokesman for the anti-Houthi coalition forces, according to the Saudi Press Agency. The jet belonging to the Saudi Royal Air Force experienced a technical fault and crashed in the war zone.

An official statement blamed the crash on a "technical failure" but the Yemeni rebel-run al-Masirah television said the British-made Tornado fighter jet was hit while flying in Yemeni airspace over the northern province of Saada, which borders Saudi Arabia. "Missiles fired at Saudi Arabia belong to Yemen which have been overhauled and their range has been increased", Jafari said.
