CLEVELAND, Ohio – It’s Game On for the Indians and Twins on Friday night at Field Field.
Earlier in the day both teams and MLB talked about possibly Friday’s postponement at 8:10 pm starting as two players on the St. Louis Cardinals tested positive for coronavirus. The Cardinals played the Twins at Field Fair on Wednesday, a day before the Indians came to play a four-game series in Minneapolis.
The Cardinals announced Friday morning that both players tested positive Wednesday while the team was in Minneapolis.
On Friday, just after at 4.30pm ET, the Indians and Twins were cleared to play the game. The Indians will send Mike Clevinger east to face Minnesota̵7;s Randy Dobnak.
The Indians were behind them in preparing their pregame as they did not leave the hotel until they heard that they were sure to play. The locker room she also visited had to be sanitized again.
Shane Bieber and James Karinchak beat the Indians to a 2-0 victory in the first game of the series on Thursday evening. Bieber put up an eighth inning without a score with 13 strikes and Karinchak fired the ninth for his first save.
This will be the second start of the season for Clevinger.
