Introduction of His Royal Highness, “Prince Gooseberry.”
Prince Harry felt like a third wheel – and even like a “currant” – when he made official engagements with his brother Prince William and Kate Middleton, according to a royal expert.
“Harry felt a lot like a spare wheel,” Katie Nicholl, told Entertainment Tonight, quoting excerpts she read from the following biography, “Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family . “
The book says Harry hasn’t been happy for a while, Nicholl said.
“One of the themes that seems to be recurring in‘ Finding Freedom ’is that Harry felt a lot like a spare wheel,” Nicholl told ET.
“While the media loved this idea of three royals (Kate Middleton, Prince William and Prince Harry), for Harry, it felt a lot like an extra wheel.
“At some point, I also heard him complain that he felt like the gooseberry, the third one back then. He was never stuck.”;
Meghan Markle changed all that, Nicholl said, re-mentioning the biography.
“I think while Kate and William went out of their way to make sure Harry felt part of this team, this trio, Harry always wanted to be his own person,” she told the shop.
“I think Meghan was the catalyst that gave her that confidence to get rid of William and Kate, and to get rid of that dynamic trio, which was sometimes comfortable and convenient, but in fact it wasn’t really what she wanted. “
While Meghan has been widely accused as the catalyst for the couple to fail in their role as royal and Los Angeles cast, “Harry was very much the motorist” behind “Megxit,” she added.
“It gave him new confidence, but I think the truth is that, for a long time, Prince Harry wanted to get out.”
