UPDATE: Update 1.4.0 is available now, which means that all the content mentioned below is now available in the game. If the update is not downloaded automatically, click “+” on the game icon from your Switch menu and select “Software Update”, then “Via Internet”.
As soon as you start the game, you’ll find two letters in your inbox with accessories – one from Nintendo with a gaming firewall, and one from Luna with a Luna bed. This is the bed from which you can access dreams.
Happy to dream.
The original story follows.
The second summer update for Animal Crossing: New Horizons is launching this week, bringing with it a new fireworks event throughout August, the ability to visit other islands through dreams, and some some limited support but welcome to save the backup.
Yes, Sharing Animals: New Horizons now finally lets you save your savings, but they aren’t backed up in the same way as saving the cloud for many other games on the Nintendo Switch. Announced earlier this year, New Horizons will periodically update at unspecified times, supporting your island and all inhabitants for Nintendo servers.
You can then save this rescue again through Nintendo Support, and only if your Switch breaks or is stolen, according to the very specific words in the press release. It is only available to players with the active Nintendo Switch Online subscription. Nintendo also states that you’ll also be able to transfer your island to another Switch soon with a future update.
The rest of this second summer update is simpler. It will introduce a new fire show event, which will be held every Sunday at 7 PM throughout August. You get access to new craft items and the ability to create custom fireworks displays that can light up the evening skies.
In addition, the update also introduces Luna to the game, allowing you to visit another island through your village dreams. Unlike visiting an island using Dodo Airlines, dream state islands can be changed and changed without a permanent consequence. Luna also lets you register your island with a dream address, which you can then share with friends.
The second update of the summer will be launched for Animal Crossing: New Horizons on July 30th. The first update this season introduced swimming for hunting, as well as new wildlife for you to catch and give to Blathers.
